Can't Cook! Won't Cook?

Why not experience a Cooking Weekend at the Boutique Beacon Hotel and improve your culinary skills?

Ideally located just off the M50 in Sandyford, the hotel is conveniently situated near Dundrum & Leopardstown. It is adjacent to the Beacon Hospital and Beacon Clinic, and just minutes from Ireland's most prestigious shopping experience at Dundrum Town Centre.

From Thai to Malaysian food or whether you're a beginner or consider yourself the next Gordon Ramsey, Levels 1 & 2 cater for everyone!

Level 1 will be taking place on the 28th November in the famous My Thai restaurant Dublin. Head Chef San will start the afternoon by bringing you back in time to the wonders of ancient Thailand, educating you on Thai culture and the origins of Thai cooking.

He will then demonstrate the art of making Tom Yamm (traditional soup), Vegetarian Spring Rolls & also his famous Thai Green Curry.

You will have the opportunity to join San's cook-along & make your own Tom Yamm, Spring Rolls & Thai Green Curry with help from San whenever you need it.

Level 2 takes place on the 14th November and focuses on Malaysian Style Cooking. By the end of the course you will have the ability to cook a variety of ethnic dishes.

Malaysian food retains all the unique qualities of traditional cooking methods and ingredients of Malay, Indian Indonesian & Chinese cultures. The results are simply a mouth-watering, authentic culinary delight fit for a King!

Finish off both afternoons by sampling your efforts and enjoying each individual dish as created by you!

My Thai Restaurant Dublin

My Thai restaurant Dublin in the 4 star hotel Sandyford, combines fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere and oodles of style matched by assured cooking.

The Asian Pacific menu balances taste, texture and presentation superbly and proudly displays its team of chefs through an open kitchen that adds to the already great atmosphere!

Speaking to Restaurant Manager Harsh Parmar about My Thai, his working background and future plans for the Dublin Thai restaurant, it is clear that Harsh and his team are very much focused on immaculate service and attention to detail.

Harsh originally from India has been living in Dublin for 9 years and has been in the hospitality industry for 12 years. In India he worked as an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager with The Sheraton Group of Hotels and when he arrived in Dublin became involved in the opening of two of the best Indian restaurants in Dublin: Vermillion in Terenure and Rasam in Glasthule as Restaurant Manager.

Combining both his hospitality and restaurant skills, Harsh joined the team at one of the most popular Thai restaurants in Dublin, My Thai in 2007.

Catching up with Harsh about the pros and cons of his job, it is clear that he very much enjoys working in My Thai: "I enjoy the fact that every day is different! The job is not monotonous in the slightest and we get to meet new people all the time! Yes, the hours are long, but well worth it when customers personally thank you or acknowledge your hard work". When asked what advice Harsh would give people wanting to pursue a career in Restaurant Management he advised: you should only work in this industry if you have a strong passion for "meeting new people, good quality food & excellent customer service".

Celebrity spotting is also a "perk" of the job! Harsh has served an array of stars including: Bono, Neil Jordan, Pat Kenny, Sinead O'Connor, Ken Dohorty, Chris De Burgh & Christy Moore (to name but a few!)

My Thai has recently launched a new Delivery Service which serves the following areas: Sandyford, Stillorgan, Kilmacud, Stepaside, Ticknock Hill, Balally, Ballyogan, Dundrum, Ballinteer, Goatstown, Killgobin, Foxrock, Leopardstown, Galloping Green & Clonskeagh.

Harsh personally recommends the Pla Lad Perik which is grilled sea bass with chilly and coriander sauce. For the month of October, My Thai are offering a complimentary bottle of wine with every delivery order over €30.00, so check out the delivery menu and get ordering!

So what's in store for the future of My Thai? "Continued success, good quality food and impeccable customer service with high repeat clientele. Experience My Thai once and you won't be able to get enough of the mouth watering cooking and outstanding service and atmosphere. Try The Crystal Bar for pre and post-dinner cocktails and make a night of it!"

My Thai is also offering cooking courses on the 14th & 28th November which focuses on both Thai & Malaysian style cuisine with Head Chef San.
