Dun Laoghaire is located 15 minutes from The Beacon Hotel and is one of Dublin’s prettiest and most scenic coastal towns in Dublin. Stop off a Teddy’s Ice Cream Parlour and get your 99 cone before strolling along the pier. After your walk, take in the many shops and coffee stops along the promenade. On Saturday’s the people’s park is packed with markets stalls and stands, selling all kinds of treasures and treats including gourmet food, multiple blends of coffee and tea and lots of sweet treats.
Dun Laoghaire’s main street is also a hive of activity oozing an eclectic mix of shops and markets. Take in a walk on the West Pier the quieter of the 2 piers or explore the National Maritime Museum. It is open Sunday – Monday 11am-5pm, entrance fees are from €5 for a regular tickets, €12 for a family ticket, €4.50 for groups or €3 for children under 12. The Pavilion Theatre and Pavilion Complex are also located in Dun Laoghaire and run a number of shows throughout the year.
When you have finished exploring Dun Laoghaire hop on the DART and head over to Howth, Bray or Dalkey and explore some of the other towns along the DART line.
