Q. What time is checkout?
A. Checkout is 12.00 pm each day. Express checkout is also available.

Q. What time is check-in?
A. Check-in is from 3.00 pm each day. If you arrive early we can certainly store your luggage for you until your room is ready.

Q. Is it possible to get a late checkout?
A. Yes. You will need to request this when booking your stay or you can request at reception when checking in. There may be a charge for this request. Late checkout is subject to availability. 

Q. Is The Beacon Hotel wheelchair friendly?
A. Yes. We have rooms available that are wheelchair accessible. Please highlight that you require a wheelchair accessible room when making your booking.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Q. What time is Breakfast served until?

A. Breakfast is served from 7.00 am until 10.00 am Monday to Friday and from 8.00 am until 11.00 am on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Q. Does the hotel serve lunch?

A. Lunch is available Monday – Friday from 12.00 pm until 4.00 pm. Lunch is available Saturday and Sunday 12.00 pm until 3.00 pm for group bookings.

Q. Does the hotel serve dinner?

A. Dinner is available from Monday - Sunday from 5.00 pm until 10.00 pm.

Q. Is bar food available?

A. Bar Food is available Monday - Sunday 12.00 pm -10.00 pm

Q. Is room service available?

A. 24 hours room service is available but the menu is limited between 10.00 pm and 7.00 am. Enjoy no tray charge on room service orders.


Q. Where is The Beacon Hotel in relation to Dublin City Centre?

A. We are located in Sandyford, Dublin 18, which is approximately 20 minutes from the city centre via the LUAS (Green Line).

Q. How far is it to walk from the hotel to the Luas stop?

A. It takes approximately 9 minutes from the hotel reception to the Kilmacud or Stillorgan Luas stop (Green Line).

Q. What Luas stop to you get on at to get into the city?

A. Kilmacud or Stillorgan Luas stop, travelling towards Broombridge or Parnell. 

Q. What Luas stop do you get off at to get into the city?

A. The green Luas line travels through the city and several stops will leave you very central. If you get off at Stephen's Green stop, this will leave you at the top of Grafton Street and right beside Stephen's Green shopping centre. The O'Connell Street Luas stop will leave you close to the GPO and Henry Street, another prominent shopping district in Dublin. 

Q: Where is The Beacon Hotel in relation to The Beacon Hospital?

A: The Beacon Hotel is located in the same building complex as the Beacon Hospital, Sandyford, Dublin 18. Our location right beside the hospital will ensure you won’t have the expense of commuting. Parking is available at the hotel for €5 overnight for our guests.

How to get to the Hotel

Q. How accessible is The Beacon from Dublin Airport?

A. The Beacon is very accessible from Dublin Airport, we are located just off exit 13 on the M50 which is the main motorway that links the Airport with the city. The journey will take approximately 25 minutes off-peak and 45 minutes in traffic from the airport to the hotel via taxi.

Q. What bus do you take from Dublin airport to get to the hotel?

The Aircoach is the best option to get from the airport to the hotel.

Travelling to The Beacon Hotel by Aircoach

  • The Beacon Hotel is serviced by the Aircoach departing opposite Dublin Airport arrivals hall
  • The Aircoach departs every 15 minutes between 03:25 am and 12:30 am, then every 30 minutes between 12:30 am and 03:25 am
  • Tickets can be purchased on the coach or online at
  • The Aircoach stops on Burton Hall Road which is a 10-minute walk from The Beacon Hotel, alternatively, it also stops at Central Park in Leopardstown, and a taxi will bring you to The Beacon in 5 minutes if you have lots of baggage. 


Travelling back to Dublin Airport from The Beacon Hotel

  • The Aircoach collects passengers at The Microsoft Building which is a short walk ( approximately 7 minutes) from The Beacon Hotel.
  • The Aircoach departs every 20 minutes between 04:30 am and 12:30 am, then every hour between 12:30 am and 04:30 am.

Q. How long will the journey take from the airport to the hotel?

A. The journey will take approximately 25 minutes off-peak and 45 minutes in traffic from the airport to the hotel via taxi.

Q. Does The Beacon’s taxi service take card?

A. Yes, you can pay by card. 


Q. Is there parking at the hotel?

A. Yes, we offer car-parking at the hotel for a fee of €5 per night for residents. Just get a member of our reception team to validate your ticket on departure. Car parking spaces are limited and cannot be reserved prior to arrival. Car parking spaces are subject to availability. The Beacon Hotel carpark is located underground, underneath the hotel. As you enter the carpark there are 2 options. Stay to the left and drive down the hill, if you take the option to the right you will be parking at The Beacon Hospital carpark and charges will apply. Simply stay to the left, drive downhill, take a ticket from the machine and follow the signs for Beacon Hotel car parking. Each of the hotel spaces are labelled Beacon Hotel parking. These are the only spaces that guests are permitted to park in. Should you park in any other space that is not labelled Beacon Hotel car parking you could be clamped.

Q. What fitness facilities do you have at the hotel?

We have a 24-hour fitness studio at the hotel, which is located on the first floor, it is a compact studio room which has the following equipment;

  • TRX Equipment
  • Stationary Bike
  • Free Weights
  • Kettlebells, Dumbbells & Medicine Balls


As part of our commitment to Covid-19 prevention, we would ask that guests reserve a time with our Reception Team to use our Fitness Studio. 

Things to do locally

Q. What is there to do around the hotel if you don't want to go into the city?

A. Sandyford itself is home to numerous shops, cafes and activities are all within walking distance of the hotel and located in Beacon South Quarter.

Dundrum Town Centre with over 200 shops restaurants and bars, cinemas and restaurants is located 5 minutes’ drive from the hotel.

Airfield Visitor Centre and café and restaurant is also a 5-minute drive from the hotel. 

Marlay Park with over 121 hectares (300 acres) suburban park located in Rathfarnham in County Dublin is a 10-minute drive from the hotel.

Killiney Hill is a 15-minute drive from the hotel and is the perfect place to enjoy a scenic walk and take in the beautiful Dublin Bay view.

Ticknock is just a 10-minute drive from the hotel. Located at the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, Ticknock offers 10 km of mountain and forest trails for you to enjoy.

Leopardstown Racecourse is located 5 minutes from the hotel by car. With a number of fixtures and events throughout the year, it is the fabulous day out.

Dun Laoghaire Pier – Dublin on the bay is a 20-minute drive from the hotel – stroll along the pier, people watch and sit in or alfresco and enjoy a coffee in one of the many cafes located around the pier. Dun Laoghaire is also full of shops, quirky little side streets, the people’s park with markets every Saturday. It is a fabulous day out and is located 20 minutes’ drive from the hotel.

Powerscourt House & Gardens with Avoca Café is located 20 minutes’ drive via a very scenic route up through Enniskerry. Spend an afternoon strolling through the gardens, visiting the waterfall, pottering around the shops and enjoy a sumptuous lunch or delicious afternoon treat.    

Wicklow Way - The Wicklow way a famous Irish walking Trail begins in Rathfarnham a 10-minute drive from the hotel. Taking in the rolling hills and scenic countryside of the Dublin, you can do a section of the walk or the full walk which finishes in Co. Carlow.

Golf -The Beacon is close to a number of local Golf courses and also some world-famous award-winning courses, including Powerscourt and Druids Glen. For more information on Golf click here.

A. The Beacon Hotel is located close to some of the best entertainment venues in Dublin. Located just beside the Green Luas line and numerous bus routes, guests can easily get to where they want to go. The Beacon is easily accessible to:
