HOUSE & GARDENS
Killruddery House re-opened to the public on June 29th. For the most up to date information regarding opening hours click here.
Conveniently located on the outskirts of the capital where Dublin meets Wicklow, a visit to Kilruddery is your opportunity to discover something new in the midst of the city.
Nature has never been more relaxing than with leisurely walks in one of Ireland's most renowned gardens filled with beautiful planting and wooded areas, water features and distinctive outdoor "rooms". If you wish to visit The Orangery, you will get to see a collection of marble statues brought back from a Grand Tour of Italy from 1830-1850. You can stop by the Tea Room to enjoy some tea and cakes while looking over the gardens or take your food and picnic in the gardens.
Kilruddery has been home to the Brabazon family since 1618. Since then, the family has still been farming 750 acres of land as they did generations ago. In 1830, Brabazons built a walled garden that would later lead to the Walled Garden Project in 2011. Today, the produce that is grown inside this garden is what supplies the Tearooms with vegetables, salads, herbs and fruits as per the Seasons from April to October.
To learn more about the history of the house and the family that lived in it, you can take a guided tour.
Tour availability is subject to change based on the other events occurring on the grounds. For more information, you can visit the website here.
Kilruddery is host to several events throughout the year. Some of the year-round activities include yoga, painting, hiking, and a Farm Market every Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm. A programme of their events is available on their website. Please also visit their website if you wish to buy tickets.
