Marlay Park is 121 hectares (300 acres) suburban park located in Rathfarnham in County Dublin, at the foothills of the Dublin Mountains. The parkland is comprised of woodlands, ponds, and walks. Enjoy a visit to the Marly Demesne which includes a Victorian cottage, lake boathouse and viewing platform. Another must-see is the walled garden which features colourful period plants, an orangery, arbour and water fountain. The park marks the start point for Wicklow Way walk, the full walk can take 8 to 10 days to finish, although you can choose to just walk part of the trail.
Recreational spaces in the park include a nine-hole par-three golf course, tennis courts, six football pitches, five GAA pitches, a cricket pitch, two children's' playgrounds and a miniature railway run by the Dublin Society of Model and Experimental Engineers.
Getting to Marlay Park from The Beacon Hotel

Alternatively, you could get the Luas to Dundrum and hop on the number 14 bus to Ballinteer. The Bus would leave you less than 10 minutes walk from Marlay Park
