Oktoberfest is back in Dublin, taking place on Georges Dock from 14th of September till 6th of October. For the duration of the festival, you can enjoy live music, traditional German food, drink and entertainment daily.
Oktoberfest is a joyous combination of fairground rides and Dirndl tradition from the Bavarian region with some German food and drink thrown into the mix. This event runs simultaneously to the original Oktoberfest in Munich, so if you can’t make it to Germany, Dublin will bring the event to you! Throw on your lederhosen and hop on a few fairground rides. Theme nights, including Pink Monday, Wacky Wednesday, and Industry Monday, will allow you to celebrate both Irish and German culture by dressing up and going all out.
There is a free entry from Sunday to Thursday each week of the event unless you want to book a table in the main marquee. Please note, you need to be 21 years of age or older to attend Oktoberfest Dublin, though Children are allowed access until 7.00pm if accompanied by an adult.
Every Friday and Saturday you will need to buy a ticket at the entrance for €10 which comes with a voucher for a German meal. You can also buy beer tokens and reserve a table in advance. All this can be done through the Oktoberfest website only. If you don’t book a table, you can still attend the event, as it runs on a first come first serve basis.
Food and Drink:
At Oktoberfest, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of delicious dishes, including bratwurst sausages, Schmankerlteller, Leberkäse, Haxn, Sauerkraut, German Schmalzkuchen, steaks and burgers, crepes, German candies and German pretzels. You can top off this amazing food with a nice, ice cold beer.
